All available snow and ice crews are in action today (Friday) according to the city of Prince George, and they will work overnight and through the weekend.
Some parts of Prince George saw over 12 centimeters of snowfall overnight.
PG is expected to receive a total of 15-20 centimeters of snow, according to an Environment Canada snowfall warning.
According to Council’s Snow and Ice Control Policy, if at least 12 centimeters falls in under one day, The aim is to clear Priority Three routes within 72 hours after Priority One and Two have been taken care of.
Clearing of Priority One and Two routes have started as of this morning (Friday), and crews will tackle Priority Three routes (including residential areas) after the first two are completed.
Environment Canada predicts some light snowfall throughout the day, but that could turn into rain if temperatures continue to rise as forecast.
