Recycle your Christmas tree at the CN Centre this weekend

Anyone who still has their natural Christmas tree may want to consider recycling it.

Job’s Daughters International, a youth leadership organization, will be hosting a tree-chipping by donation event at the CN Centre from 10 A.M. Until 4 P.M. today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday).

“It’s a combination of a community service event and a bit of a fundraising activity for us,” explained Dianne Graham, a volunteer with Job’s Daughters.

Graham also said the group hopes to donate a portion of proceeds to another non-profit.

“The one that we’re going to be donating to will be the Hearing Impaired Kids Equipment Fund, who provide hearing equipment for children who can’t afford it.”

Job’s Daughters is expecting to accept between 2,000 and 3,000 trees.

“We’re encouraging everybody to bring their trees… the city is willing to chip any tree that comes.”

Further details are available online.
