The Cougars acquired 18-year-old defenceman Majid Kaddoura, a first-round Bantam Draft pick in 2020 and the rights to unsigned 16-year-old forward Jayden Watson from the Saskatoon Blades, for defenceman Rhett Rhinehart and a third-round selection this year.

Prince George also landed 18-year-old forward Jonny Hooker from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for Reid Perepeluk.

“The moves today fits into our plan for not only our future but for right now as well. Getting another first-round selection in what is a very talented 2005-born draft class is what we were striving for,” said General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb.

“Reid and Rhett were good players for our organization, and it was a tough decision to make these moves but they were made with our future in mind.”

Kaddoura is in his second season with the Blades and has two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 36 games.

The Chestermere, Alberta product has played in 77 career regular-season games, scoring three goals and nine assists for 12 points.

Watson is currently playing with the Grande Prairie Storm Midget AAA program where he has five goals and 16 assists in 25 games this season.

He was picked by the Blades in the eighth-round, 162nd overall, during the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

The Cougars now have three first-round selections for the draft in May.
