City of PG prepares to move ahead with 100 unit downtown facility

The City of Prince George is no stranger to social issues downtown, but a proposed project looks to tackle the issue.

On January 15th, between 6:00 P.M. and 7:30 P.M., members of the public are invited to City Hall for an information session.

The session will be the second one to expand on the proposed 100 unit housing and healthcare facility on First Avenue.

If the facility is approved, it will deliver primary care, harm reduction, specialized mental health and substance use services.

Before the project can move forward, Council must rezone the property and alter an existing community plan.

A date has not yet been set for the planned public hearing, which will be hosted prior to the amendment of the Official City Plan and rezoning process.

A full list of details can be found on the City’s website.
