River ice jams remain a seasonal concern for The City of Prince George.
“It looks as we expect it to with the freeze and thaw that we’ve seen recently. It’s piling up around the edges and starting to break up around certain spots in the middle,” explained Manager of Emergency Programs and Public Safety, Clayton Sheen.
While ice build-up is the first warning sign of potential flooding, City officials say there is no cause for concern.
“We’re just at a daily monitoring stage, and it looks quite normal,” said Sheen.
