Traffic back to normal after pair of accidents on Highway 97

According to Drive BC, the road has been cleared between Highway 16 and 39 as well as Edric Road and Mitchell Road, 21 kilometres north of Prince George.

A pair of accidents are slowing down traffic on Highway 97 near Prince George this morning.

The first one took place 21 kilometres north of the city due to a multi-vehicle accident and traffic is down to single lane alternating.

It’s between Salmon Valley and Summit Lake.

According to Drive BC, a vehicle recovery is taking place between Edric Road and Mitchell Road.

Another crash is being reported on the same highway just before Bear Lake.

A travel advisory is in effect between Highway 16 and 39, just south of the Mackenzie Junction to Prince George

Freezing rain and black ice are being reported.
