Those hoping to support the Canadian Cancer Society on June 14th and 15th during the annual Relay For Life now have another incentive to do so: a $10,000 cash prize provided by Northland Dodge.
Every participant who raises $500 will receive an entry into the draw for the prize, with each additional $500 raised earning another entry.
The cash prize fits neatly into this year’s ‘Monopoly’ theme which looks to transform Prince George’s Exhibition Park into a game board.
“I think this year has been really good, and we’re ahead of our participation numbers if we compare year-to-year. In Prince George, with our long winters, as the snow starts to melt our numbers do quickly go up,” explained Ryley Newman, Relay For Life Event Chair.
This year’s event hopes to raise $375,000, a modest increase from last year’s total of $365,000.
The money will be split between supporting cancer research, as well as those facing cancer in the community.
