The College of New Caledonia has reacted to Victoria’s plan to make post-secondary institutions focus on so-called high-demand occupations rather than liberal arts programs.
Spokesman Randall Heidt says on the surface it looks like a positive move.
Under the provincial government’s “jobs blueprint,” universities and colleges will have to direct 25 percent of their funding to programs identified by industry as in-demand, up from the current level of 10 percent.
