City of PG adjusting operations and services in response to ministerial orders

Following additional orders made by the BC Government and the Provincial Health Officer, the City of Prince George has announced that it will be adjusting various operations and services during the provincial state of emergency.

Firstly, the City’s bylaw officers will be able to enforce orders that have been issued by Dr. Bonnie Henry, and will be monitoring facilities that have been closed by a public health order.

Residents who believe that official orders are not being followed are encouraged to call 3-1-1 or email [email protected].

City Council is able to hold meetings without the public being present, and are able to meet through electronic mediums.

Councillors will be able to complete three readings and the adoption of certain bylaws in a single meetings instead of several.

They are currently considering how to proceed, although all public meetings will continue to be livestreamed.

Finally, farmers’ markets have been deemed essential services and City officials are currently working with the Prince George Farmers Market Association to find a suitable location without opening City-owned facilities.
