As the town celebrates Mr. PG’s 60th birthday virtually, Prince George’s Mayor Lyn Hall spoke on the event.
“He has really put us on the map,” Hall said while reflecting on the impact of the town’s mascot, adding: “he represents the forest industry, and that’s the backbone of our economy.”
Mr. PG is also sporting a new flag to raise awareness for multiple sclerosis (MS) on his big day.
“That’s another thing that Mr. PG does: when you have MS month, or you have a month where various organizations are trying to raise funds for their cause, we fly their flag,” Hall explained.
“For MS month it’s an opportunity for us to get a better understanding of what that disease is about.”
