The art scene around Prince George’s gallery might be left on hold a little while longer.
“We are definitely not in a rush to open,” said Carolyn Holmes, Executive Director of the Two Rivers Art Gallery.
Holmes cited concerns about guest and staff safety.
When asked about the challenges associated with closing to the public, Holmes stated:
“It has been less of a challenge than you would think.”
Explaining the shift to online programs has allowed the gallery to continue to engage with the public.
“Right now we have a ballpark [reopening] date of July, but we’ll have to wait and see,” Holmes said.
She hinted at the introduction of a phase-based plan but said the phases are contingent on securing cleaning products and protective equipment.
“In the summer we may be open for a reduced schedule to let people come in and look at the featured exhibition.”
