Spruce Kings make a plethora of moves

The Prince George Spruce Kings continue to bolster their roster.

On Monday, the BCHL club added goaltender Aaron Trotter for the upcoming season.

The 19-year-old spent last season with Shawnigan Lake School Prep of the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL).

The Victoria product sported an 11-7-1 record along with a 2.57 GAA and .905 save percentage.

“We are excited to add Aaron Trotter to join Carter Woodside to form our goaltending duo for this coming season,” said Head Coach Alex Evin.

“Aaron has good size and mobility which compliments his work ethic and compete level.”

In addition, the Spruce Kings made a deal with the Powell River Kings to acquire 19-year-old forward Rowan Miller.

He completes the future considerations of the Brett Pfoh trade last season.

“We are excited to add Rowan to our program. Rowan is a skilled forward who competes very hard in both ends of the ice,” said GM Mike Hawes.

Miller finished the 2019-20 campaign with 8 goals and 7 assists in 47 games played.

The Spruce Kings continued to shore up the forward group acquiring 20-year-old Christian Buono from the Merritt Centennials for future considerations.

He notched 38 points in 58 games last season.

“Christian is a veteran BCHL player who will provide leadership and will be relied on as a big offensive piece of our team,” added Hawes.
