The individual is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after losing control of a motorcycle during the arrest.

According to the report, the man had stated that he was going to harm himself, before leaving the residence on a motorcycle.

The man was located close by, but police were unable to take him into custody before he fled the scene.

The man was seen again on Highway 20 and pursued by police.

The Independent Investigations Office of BC (IIOBC) is now investigating to determine whether police actions or inaction are linked to the man’s injuries.
