Former Conservative Prince George-Peace River MP Jay Hill is the new interim leader of the Wexit Canada Party,
taking over from Peter Downing.
The 67-year-old Hill served as MP for part of the Northern BC region from 1993 until his retirement in 2010.
According to a Facebook post, Hill will assume leadership responsibilities “until the party is able to hold a founding convention and the grassroots members elect a new leader.”
The Wexit movement reflects concerns about political representation in Western Canada.
Details remain sparse, with more information available on the group’s Facebook page.
