Prince George Community Foundation awards $295,000 in grants to various charity groups

Thirty-nine charities in the Prince George area and across the north are receiving a leg up to the tune of $295,000 courtesy of grant money that was distributed through the local Community Foundation.

This includes funding items like personal protective equipment, increased cleaning materials, supporting mental health services, food banks, hamper programs, and more.

It’s part of the 350-million dollar Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF), organized by the Government of Canada.

“The Prince George Community Foundation is pleased to be able to support our communities through the disbursement of these funds to help charities pivot in order to remain operational during this pandemic. This would not have been possible without the support of the Government of Canada, Community Foundations of Canada, and the regional Community Foundations & partners across the North that we worked with.” Mindy Stroet, Director of Development
