In a nutshell:

NHL:

Tyler Toffoli picked a good time to return as his three-point night (1 goal, 2 assists) helped propel the Vancouver Canucks to a 5-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.

This ties the best-of-seven Western Conference Semi-final series 1-1.

Elias Pettersson also recorded a goal and two helpers while Jakob Markstrom was first star material stopping 38 Vegas shots.

Captain Bo Horvat potted a pair goals for Vancouver while Max Pacioretty and Alex Tuch replied for the Golden Knights. Game 3 is set for Thursday at 6:45. You can listen to the game on Country 97 FM.

Elsewhere, Ondrej Palat scored the overtime winner for the Tampa Bay Lightning who edged the Boston Bruins 4-3.

That Eastern Conference Semi-Final is tied 1-1 with Game three tonight at 5pm Pacific.

Two other games round out the Wednesday slate as Philadelphia Flyers look to rebound against the New York Islanders at Noon Pacific. Isles lead the series 1-0.

In the West, the Dallas Stars look to win again over Colorado. Stars lead that best of seven 2-0.

Kasperi Kapanen was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins by the Toronto Maple Leafs as part of a six-player deal that included the Pens’ first-round pick (15th overall) in this year’s NHL Draft.

Pontus Aberg and Jesper Lindgren are also Pittsburgh-bound, while the Maple Leafs received forwards Evan Rodrigues and Filip Hallander, and defenseman David Warsofsky.

NBA:

The Denver Nuggets staved off elimination with a 127-117 win over the Utah Jazz in their first round playoff matchup.

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray came to play hooping a combined 73 points.

Utah leads the series 3-2.

In other action, Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers scored at will against the listless Dallas Mavericks coasting to a 154-111 triumph.

George led the way with a game-high 35 points in just 24 minutes of action.

Clippers lead that series 3-2.

On Thursday, the Toronto Raptors begin their second round matchup against the Boston Celtics.

This will be the first time both teams will play each other in the postseason.

MLB:

A six-run, sixth inning sunk the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night as they fell 9-7 to the Boston Red Sox.

Boston improves to 10-20 while the Jays fall to an even 14-14.

Both teams play again tonight in Buffalo.
