The federal government is providing 83-million dollars in funding to ensure sufficient child care spaces are available in BC
The funding is part of the 625-million dollar investment through the Safe Restart Program.
According to the BC Government, 36-hundred new child care spaces are coming to the province including 40 at the Aboriginal Housing Society in Prince George.
The announcement also covers 73 new spaces at the YMCA of Northern BC’s Park House Early Learning Centre, which is slated to open next year.
