NHL:

–The Tampa Bay Lightning jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead and held on for a 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars to even the Stanley Cup final 1-1. Tampa notched those three goals, two of them on the power play, in a span of fewer than four minutes. Jon Cooper of Prince George is the head coach of the Lightning. Game 3 will be played Wednesday night just after 5:00 (PT) in Edmonton.

–The NHL’s top scorer, Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers, is the winner Hart Memorial Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award (which goes to the league’s MVP as voted by the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association, and the most outstanding player in a vote by his fellow players). Draisaitl was the only player in the COVID-19-shortened regular season to register over 100 points.

NFL:

–The Las Vegas Raiders are one of 11 teams to start the NFL season 2-0. The Raiders opened their new Las Vegas stadium with an upset 34-24 win over the New Orleans Saints to conclude week 2.

NBA:

–Game three in the NBA Western Conference final will take to the court just after 6:00 tonight (Tuesday) with the LA Lakers enjoying a 2-0 lead over the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers are 10-2 in the playoffs.

–The Boston Celtics and Miami Heat resume their East final series Wednesday night (5:30 PT) with the Heat ahead 2-1. Kelly Olynyk of Kamloops plays for Miami.

MLB:

–The Toronto Blue Jays are 28-26 with six games left. According to FanGraphs, the Jays chances of reaching the playoffs are about 98 %. Toronto whipped the New York Yankees 11-5 Monday. The same two teams play again today (3:35 PT) in Buffalo.
