The facility has been around since 1994 and the funds will be allocated to upgrading its children’s centre.

Community Development Manager, Janessa Ellis spoke with MyPGNow.com.

“Some of the equipment we have dates back to then and these funds are going to make a huge difference in replacing some of the aging shelving and water tables as well as some new toys and equipment for some of the kiddos that we serve.”

The Centre was nominated by Sarah Brown who is the supervisor of community well-being and partnerships with the City of Prince George.

“I had talked to her about a month ago and she let me know that she was putting in this nomination but we found out a week or so ago that we were getting this and are just ecstatic.”
