Two programs from the Prince George Public Library have been given provincial recognition. Two of three merit awards from the BC Library Association have been given to the local branch. Spokesperson Andrea Palmer says the library’s Gay-Straight Alliance won in the Programs or Services category.
Palmer says the PG Library’s “Don’t Read These Books” initiative also won in the Advocacy or Marketing category. This campaign saw banned books held for ransom at local shops and people had to donate money to release them.
