A group out in Pineview is continuing efforts to get a seniors facility set up.
The Sunrise Ridge Seniors Housing Society is working to get a complex built for people who have lived in the rural part of the area.
Co-Chair Bertha Cisecki says right now they want to get housing for people who can’t live on their own.
“I guess eventually down the road, there will probably to where there will be some assistance and stuff for people too,” says Cisecki, “but to start with what we need is to build some housing for seniors out here, so that the place is kind of looked after on the outside.”
Cisecki says a study done by the Community Development Institute shows Pineview needs 49 units in the next 10 years.
She says they are currently working to secure funding.
