MLB: 

–The Tampa Bay Rays are one win away from advancing to the World Series. The Rays beat the Houston Astros 5-2 to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-7 American League Championship Series. Tampa will go for a sweep when the two teams play again tonight (5:40 PT) in Game 4.

–In the National League, the Atlanta Braves built up a 7-0 lead and held on to edge the LA Dodgers 8-7. The Braves lead the NLCS 2-0 with Game 3 this afternoon (3:05 PT).

NFL: (Final game in Week 5)

–The Tennessee Titans are one of four unbeaten teams after five weeks of the NFL season. The Titans blitzed Buffalo 42-16, handing the Bills their first loss. Tennessee, Pittsburgh and Green Bay are all 4-0 while Seattle sits atop the overall standings at 5-0. Week 6 will begin with a dozen games on Sunday and conclude with two more on Monday. The Seahawks are idle this weekend.

–The New York Jets have released three-time Pro Bowl running back Le’Veon Bell. The disgruntled Bell ends a
disappointing tenure after less than two full seasons with the Jets.
