MLB:

–The baseball season ended with the Los Angeles Dodgers capturing their first World Series title in 32 years by outscoring the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in Game 6. Tampa was ahead 1-0 when Rays manager Kevin Cash pulled ace left-hander Blake Snell in the 6th inning despite Snell giving up just two hits in the game. After the pitching change, the Dodgers scored twice in the 6th and added another run in the 8th.

–Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager was named MVP of the World Series after earning the honour for the League Championship Series against Atlanta. Seager batted .400 with two homers, five RBIs and six walks against Tampa Bay. He also batted .310 with five homers and 11 RBIs in the seven-game win over Atlanta in the NLCS.

NHL:

–The Prince George Cougars all-time points leader, Jansen Harkins, will continue to wear a Winnipeg Jets uniform. The 23-year-old Harkins signed a two-year contract extension with the Jets for an average salary of $725,000 per season.

BCHL:

–The Prince George Spruce Kings have their next pre-season game on Saturday, November 7th when they host the Merritt Centennials at the RMCA. The Spruce Kings are 2-1 in exhibition action against the Centennials in October. Brandon Dent, Hunter Brown, Blake Astorino and Alex Ochitwa of PG play for Merritt.

NFL: 

–Week 8 of the NFL season will begin Thursday night (5:20 PT) when the Atlanta Falcons visit the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons are 1-6 while the Panthers sit at 3-4.
