When 7-year-old ‘Tank’, a Pitbull underwent life-saving stomach surgery this weekend, his owner Shawn Harris, was facing a massive vet bill.

However, the ‘Prince George Bully Breed’ Facebook group came up with a number of ways to help the father-of-three pay for the surgery that ended up costing around $2,500.

“It’s pretty amazing how the community came together for our dog,” explained Harris, “my kids and I are so grateful to the Prince George Bully Facebook Group and everyone involved in this process.”

Tank needed the surgery after consuming an item that caused a blockage in his stomach.

He was taken home on Sunday after spending the night at the Ospika Veterinarians Office.

“Tank is doing really good,” beamed Harris,” he’s trying to get back to his old self by jumping and running around but I’m not letting him right now.”

The surgery was paid for through a couple of raffles put on by the Bully Breed Facebook page members, as well as direct donations to ‘Tank/Shawn Harris’ account at the veterinarians’ office.
