CILA looking to attract mining workers to forest sector

The Central Interior Logging Association is hoping to attract new workers from the mining industry to forestry. With recent coal mine closures in Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge, those who are unemployed may want to enter the logging sector. Manager Rory Bradner says there has been a shortage of forestry jobs over the past few years and demand continues to rise.

Bradner says its unsure how many jobs in the logging sector need to be filled. He says CILA along with logging companies plan on finding ways of attracting mine workers to the forestry sector.
