Another snowfall warning issued for Highway 97 and the Pine Pass

The area of Highway 97 and the Pine Pass can’t catch a break from Old Man Winter.

A snowfall warning has been issued once again by Environment Canada where up to 20 centimetres could fall between tonight and tomorrow (Tuesday).

Meteorologist, Eric Mack explained to MyPGNow.com why the area has been hard hit so far.

“It looks like this year will be quite an active season early on, we’ve been getting quite a bit of snow for the interior over the past week. There will be a bit of a warmup later this week too where some snow will turn into rain.”

Motorists are reminded to adjust their driving habits as conditions worsen.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

In Prince George, a balmy week is being predicted with temperatures slated to be above the freezing mark until the weekend.

Thursday and Friday are expected to be the warmest days with anticipated highs of three and five degrees.

“With that system, there is a lot of warm air is getting pushed into the central interior starting this weekend. As a result, the temperature will increase above freezing and should stick around,” added Mack.
