The Prince George Chamber of Commerce has launched their #HolidayPG campaign in an attempt to support local businesses this holiday season.
From Friday (Nov 27th) to December 17th, the Chamber of Commerce ‘Elves’ will be sweeping local businesses across the City in the search for shoppers to give local business gift cards to.
“The #HolidayPG campaign is meant to engage local shoppers with local retailers, and reward them for thinking and shopping locally,” said the Chamber’s CEO Todd Corrigall.
The ‘Elves’ will be working only during each businesses operating hours.
“If you’re out shopping at a local store you can take a picture of yourself in the store and post the picture to social media, tag the Chamber and #HolidayPG and you’ll be entered into a weekly draw for $100,” added Corrigall.
He noted that this year it is especially important to shop local and keep money within the Prince George community to stimulate our local economy.
“Every year we look for different avenues to promote local business but we’ve seen through COVID-19 a number of challenges to our local businesses,” said Corrigall.
Everyone that entered will also be entered to win the ‘mega prize’, which is a couples event for New Year’s Eve.
In addition, every Chamber member business that supports the campaign will be entered into a final draw for an identical New Years’ Eve package.
