Hartley’s Sport Shorts; Monday, November 30th

In a nutshell: As of 12:05 AM Monday by Hartley Miller

Biathlon:

–Sarah Beaudry of Prince George began the women’s World Cup biathlon season by competing in a couple of races in Finland. Beaudry placed 70th out of 102 racers in the 15km individual event (Saturday) & followed that up with an 80th place finish out of 104 (Sunday) in the 7.5km sprint.

NFL:

–The New Orleans Saints took advantage of a Denver Broncos team that did not have a legitimate quarterback. The Saints won their 8th straight pounding the Broncos 31-3 to improve to an NFC best 9-2. The (4-7) Broncos were forced to play without any of their four quarterbacks because of coronavirus concerns, so they promoted Kendall Hinton from their practice squad two hours before kickoff. Hinton, a former Wake Forest quarterback who converted to wide receiver his senior year, went just 1-for-9 for 13 yards with a sack, two interceptions and a passer rating of zero.

–The Kansas City Chiefs scored the first 17 points and held on for a 27-24 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 462 yards, including touchdowns of 75, 44 and 20 yards to Tyreek Hill, who finished with 13 catches for 269 yards. The Chiefs are 10-1 and only behind the 10-0 Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC. The Steelers host the 6-4 Baltimore Ravens Tuesday.

–The Monday Night football game has the 7-3 Seattle Seahawks at the 3-6-1 Philadelphia Eagles.
