Dezell honoured with Freedom of the City

A former city councillor and chair of the school district has received the City’s highest honour.

Cliff Dezell has been awarded the Freedom of the City.

Dezell has lived in Prince George since 1946, and was a councillor for 19 years between 1983 to 2005.

“I’ve always thought that politics was not only an important thing for people to get involved in to try and make their community better, but also it was an honourable calling, and I still believe that. I encourage people to get involved in their community in politics or whatever else, because when we all work together it’s a better place.”

Dezell’s father Garvin was the mayor of Prince George for 14 years and is also a Freeman of the City.

Dezell himself has been a pharmacist, hospital administrator, and office manager at Wilson King in the community.
