Hockey:

–Canada will play Germany today (Saturday 3 PM PT) in its first game at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton. Northeastern University freshman Devon Levi will start in net for Canada. Levi made 23 saves for the shutout in a 1-0 exhibition victory over Russia on Wednesday. Taylor Gauthier of the PG Cougars is one of three goalies on the Canadian team. Gauthier did not dress against the Russians.


NFL:

–Alvin Kamara tied an NFL record by running for six touchdowns to lead the New Orleans Saints to a 52-33 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The (11-4) Saints clinched a 4th straight NFC South title while the (6-9) Vikings were officially eliminated from playoff contention.

–Week 16 of the NFL season continues with 3 Saturday games: Tampa at Detroit (10:00 AM PT), San Francisco at Arizona (1:30 PM) and Miami at Las Vegas (5:15).


NBA:

–The (0-1) Toronto Raptors play their next game tonight (5:30 PT) against the (1-0) Spurs in San Antonio.
