Section of 5th Avenue closed due to wind storm

The City of Prince George continues to pick up the pieces from yesterday’s (Tuesday) windstorm that knocked out power to businesses and some 73-hundred residents.

As a result, a section of 5th Avenue between Queensway and Dominion Street remains closed.

The City is taking this action as a precautionary measure after reports the wind blew sections of flashing off the top of the Wood Innovation and Design Centre into the street.

Barricades have been set up next to the Plaza Parkade between Karahi King and Crossroads Brewing.

However, access to the parkade is still available.

Further down 5th Avenue, barricades have been established between the Makerie Craft and Coffee Bar and the Twisted Cork Restaurant.

The City will advise residents when the street is reopened.
