Family Day Adventure Cruise promises to pick up where Candy Cruise left off

The creators of the Halloween Candy Cruise are planning another city-wide event for Family Day.

Scheduled for February 15, the event strives to find ways to celebrate while maintaining current health orders.

Organizers hope it gives families a chance to get out of the house, engage the community safely and build positive memories through the pandemic.

An adventure card with activities to do around town will be released before the event start time.

“These activities range from self directed things like “cross all 4 bridges”, photograph Waldo at Cottonwood Island Park (volunteers dressed like Waldo wandering around the park) to other things like get a drive thru cookie from Ness Lake Bible Camp, and take a photo with a downtown mural,” said spokesperson Dave Horton.

Some are run as drive through events, and some are self directed.

“The 25 activities are being chosen to help keep crowds from forming, spread people across town, and get them active in the community,” added Horton.

He says the plan is already in the works and can be changed as needed.
