A missing person case came to a paws-itive conclusion thanks to a local police dog, say the Prince George RCMP.
Mounties responded to a report of an elderly man who had wandered off during an outing with his wife in the West Lake area on Monday evening.
According to his wife, she and her 83-year-old husband were out for a walk but she lost sight of him.
Neighbours had come to help her in her search, but as night began to fall, concerns about the man’s safety grew.
Officers and police dogs attended the area and started a search and found the man in nearby bushes shortly afterwards.
“The Police Dog Services team located the elderly gentleman in the bush and brought him to safety,” said Constable Jennifer Cooper with the Prince George RCMP.
Emergency Health services assessed the man on the scene and found him to be uninjured.
