UPDATE 9:30 pm:

Prince George Fire Rescue was called to put out a fire at 7255 Southridge Ave. (Southridge Estates across from Southridge Elementary) just before 5:00 today (Thursday).

The 20 firefighters “found heavy smoke and fire coming from a condo unit at the rear of the building and extending into a second unit and the roof structure,” according to
Assistant Chief Dan Pears.

“Crews knocked down the exterior fire on the back deck, pressurized the building and attacked the fire from the interior. Using piercing nozzles into the ceiling and thermal imaging cameras got the fire under control in the roof structure and extinguished the fire,” added Pears.

Fire suppression took about 3 hours and caused approximately $200,000.00 in damage.
