(Aaron Trotter made 22 saves for the shutout. The (7-3-0-1) Spruce Kings take over first place in the three-team Chilliwack Pod, a point ahead of the (7-4) Chiefs. Prince George will play Chilliwack again in its next game Saturday night at 5:00)

WHL:
(BC Division)

The (4-5-1-1) Prince Cougars face the (8-2) Blazers tonight in Kamloops.  The Cougars have reached the midway point of their short season. Kamloops is 3-0 against Prince George, outscoring the Cats 16-5.

In the WHL Wednesday, Vancouver beat Victoria 5-3 as the Giants improved to 9-3 on the season.

The WHL has confirmed that the PG Cougars, along with Kamloops, Vancouver and Victoria will play 22 games with no playoffs to follow. The Kelowna Rockets’ final schedule includes just 16 games.

The (18-18-3) Vancouver Canucks play their next 4 games against the last-place Ottawa Senators starting tonight in Vancouver. The Canucks are 10 points back of Montreal for the 4th and final playoff spot in the North Division with Vancouver holding 5 games in hand.

CFL:
The CFL says the 2021 season will start two months later than planned because of the pandemic. The league plans to begin on August 5th after originally planning to kick things off in June. Each team is also scheduled to play 14 games, down from the original 18. The Grey Cup is scheduled to be played on December 12th.
