BCHL:

Prince George Spruce Kings  3  Merritt Centennials  0
(4th straight win for the Spruce Kings, who beat the Chilliwack Chiefs 5-2 the night before on Saturday. Kobe Grant made 23 saves for his second shutout in his second start. Prince George has a 3-point lead over the (8-5) Chiefs in the 3-team Chilliwack Pod with 7 games left. The (9-3-0-1) Spruce Kings play the (2-10) Centennials again on Wednesday)

WHL: (BC Division)

The (4-7-1-1) Prince George Cougars play the (1-11-1) Victoria Royals tonight in Kamloops. The Cougars are riding a 4-game losing streak after dropping a 5-1 decision Friday to the Kelowna Rockets. The Royals have lost eight straight. Prince George is 2-1 against Victoria in the season series.

In the B.C. Division of the WHL Sunday, Kamloops blanked Vancouver 2-0. The (11-2) Blazers lead the Hub by four points over the (9-5) Giants.

The (19-19-3) Vancouver Canucks play the last-place Senators again tonight and Wednesday in Ottawa. The Canucks doubled the Senators 4-2 Saturday in Vancouver. Other Canadian division games this evening have Montreal at Calgary and Edmonton at Winnipeg. The Canucks, who are playing four road games in six nights this week, are eight points back of Montreal for a playoff spot with Vancouver holding five games in hand.

The (10-11) Blue Jays play five home games this week: Tuesday and Wednesday against the Washington Nationals plus Friday, Saturday, and Sunday vs. the Atlanta Braves.

Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu says she has tested positive for COVID-19.

Andreescu made the announcement Sunday and said she won’t be playing in the upcoming Madrid Open.
