Prince George Cougars  2  Kelowna Rockets  1
(WHL Goalie of the Week Taylor Gauthier made 29 saves as Kelowna outshot Prince George 30-18. His shutout attempt was ruined with 4:22 left in the third period. Connor Bowie scored the winner, with a shorthanded effort, early in the second. Koehn Ziemmer opened the scoring for Prince George. The (8-7-2-1) Cougars are riding a 5-game point streak and will battle the (10-8) Vancouver Giants tonight in Kamloops in their 4th last game of the season)

BCHL:

The (11-5-0-1) Prince George Spruce Kings play the (3-14) Merritt Centennials tonight and Friday before concluding their season on Sunday against the Chilliwack Chiefs. The Spruce Kings are a point behind the (12-6) Chiefs in the race for the top spot in the 3-team Chilliwack Pod.  The Chiefs have two games remaining. Prince George is coming off Monday’s 3-0 loss to Chilliwack.

(It was the 6th straight loss for the (19-25-3) Canucks, who visit the Oilers Thursday and Saturday. Connor McDavid picked up two more assists to give him 93 points with five games left)

Team Canada, skipped by Kerri Einarson, is 4-5 and on a 3-game win streak following a pair of victories Tuesday at the world women’s curling championship in Calgary. Canada kept its playoff hopes alive with a 10-4 win over Italy followed by a 6-5 victory in an extra end over Scotland. Canada meets Estonia today and
finishes the preliminary round versus Denmark and Japan on Thursday and China on Friday.
