Flight prices drop as competition for domestic travel rises

Prices for flights within Canada are dropping, and the frequency of them is rising.

Taking a quick look at Expedia, you could get a round trip from Prince George to Vancouver if booking tonight (Monday) for $79.

On Cheap Flights, you could go from Vancouver to Toronto for much less than $200 one way.

President and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority, Gordon Duke, spoke with MyPGNow.com about what to expect if you decide to travel.

“Airlines operate on a use it or lose it proposition, so my advice would be if you see that good fare and it works for you timing-wise, to snap it up.”

Duke added airports are still taking the pandemic quite seriously.

“Here at the airport, and any airport you go to there will be similar, very rigorous safety and hygiene protocols in place.”

He stated the frequency of flights has increased, and some airlines are even starting new routes, like Westjet going from Prince George to Abbotsford.
