Cougars to face BC Division rivals a dozen times each

Puck drop for the 2021-22 WHL season is still three and a half months away but the Prince George Cougars are counting the days until they return to the CN Centre.

Today (Wednesday), the Cats regular-season slate was unveiled as they will open it at home on Saturday, October 2nd against the Kamloops Blazers.

“It’s fantastic to be able to look at all of our home games and picture our community back together again, and to know that our team and the CN Centre is going to be a big part of helping our community recover from this pandemic,” said Cougars’ Vice President, Business Andy Beesley.

In addition, the Cougars will face their B.C. Division rivals (Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria) 12 times each.

Prince George will play the five U.S. Division teams (Everett, Portland, Seattle, Spokane, Tri-City) four times apiece.

Fans will get to see the Cougars at home during the holiday season thanks to a three-game homestand that kicks off with a double-header against the Everett Silvertips on December 28th & 29th. followed by a New Year’s Eve showdown against the Blazers.

24 of the Cougars 34 home games fall on the weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

The final home game on April 3rd will also be against Kamloops.

The 2022  playoffs are scheduled to begin on April 8th with the Conference Playoff format returning.
