“You get this wonderful group of people who are really committed to the health of everyone. So it’s an easy fit for us, and any way we can help out is a good thing,” said Eric Brewer, former NHL defenceman and Co-owner of the PG Cougars.

Last year’s event was canceled, but in 2019 the tournament brought in $75,000.

Since the charity golf tournament was created, $558,000 has been raised.

Brewer was also optimistic about the upcoming hockey season.

Not only were 3 of the Cougars picked for Hockey Canada’s U-18 Team Summer Development Camp, but BC is slated to enter Step 4 of the Restart Program at the beginning of September before the Pre Season starts.

“Well, lots to look forward to hopefully coming out of this pandemic. With everything the way that it should be in full capacity. So we will have to wait and see with that. But things look good, the full schedule is out,” said Brewer.

“We’re really happy being at the rink, that’s a lot of people’s happy place, and we feel like our time is right for coming out of the pandemic with the type of team that people are going to want to watch.”
