One additional COVID-19 case associated with the Jubilee Lodge outbreak has been identified.
To date, 19 residents and one staff have tested positive while two residents have passed away from the virus.
Additionally, three residents have been epi-linked (had a high-risk exposure with a confirmed case) to the outbreak.
Northern Health is closely monitoring for additional cases, and the facility is taking enhanced outbreak precautions including:
- Increased frequency of cleaning and infection control measures
- Enhanced symptom monitoring among all staff and residents
- Reducing movement of staff and residents in the facility
- Temporary suspension of social visits (essential visits are not impacted, and can continue)
Public health officials will be monitoring the situation carefully over the coming weeks and will only declare the outbreak over when they are confident that chains of transmission have been stopped.
