The Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia (IIO) is in contact with the RCMP following an incident in Dawson Creek left one woman injured.
Just after 9 am on Saturday (September 11) police were called to the 1200 block of 103 Avenue for a report of a woman allegedly carrying weapons and smashing vehicle windows.
She was found and placed under arrest.
The woman was seriously injured after officers attempted to take her into custody and was then transported to the hospital.
The IIO is looking into whether police actions are linked to the woman’s injuries.
No further information will be released by police.
