The same teams play another pre-season game tonight (Saturday) at 7:00 in Prince George. Those planning to attend at CN Centre will have to provide proof of vaccination status. The regular season for the Cougars will begin on October 2nd when they host the Blazers.

PG Spruce Kings:
The Prince George Spruce Kings main training camp is taking place this weekend at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA). There will be two scrimmages during camp, one tonight at 6:00 and the other Sunday at noon. The Spruce Kings open their 2021 pre-season schedule on Friday, September 24th against the Centennials in Merritt.

The same teams play again tonight at Masich Place Stadium starting with the women’s game at 5:00 followed by the men at 7:15. The UNBC men have a loss and two ties after three games while the UNBC women have three losses. Trinity Western is 3-0 in the women’s standings and has three ties after three games in the men’s division. (The UNBC soccer teams will visit UBC on September 24th and 25th before hosting UBC Okanagan on October 1st and 2nd)

The Jays are 1/2 a game behind the New York Yankees and one game back of the Boston Red Sox in the race for the two AL wild card spots, although all three teams are tied in the loss column. Toronto has 15 games left, 7 on the road and 8 at home. The (82-65) Blue Jays have six left against Minnesota, three against Tampa, three against the Yankees, and three against Baltimore.

Triple-A Baseball:
Jared Young of Prince George is batting .260 since getting called up to AAA with the Iowa Cubs. The 26-year-old first baseman has four homers and 15 RBI’s in 30 games.
