PG Cougars

The WHL regular season kicks off tonight.

The Prince George Cougars start with its home opener Saturday night at 7:00 against the Kamloops Blazers from CN Centre.

The Cougars finished 2-2 in the pre-season.

 

BCHL

The Spruce Kings wrap up their pre-season at home on Sunday at 3:00 against the Merritt Centennials.

P.G. will start the regular season Friday, October 8th in Merritt.

 

BC Elite Hockey League: (Cariboo Cougars & Northern Capitals)

(U18AAA )

The (1-1) U18 Cariboo Cougars host the (1-0-1) Valley West Giants Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 12:45 p.m. at Kin 1.

(FEMALE U18 AAA)

The (2-0) Northern Capitals play the Fraser Valley Rush Friday night at 6:45, the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers Saturday afternoon at 3:45 and the Vancouver Island Seals Sunday morning at 9 with all three games in Surrey.

 

Canada West Soccer

The UNBC Timberwolves host the UBCO Heat today (Friday) and Saturday from Masich Place Stadium.

The men play at noon while the women kick off at 6pm each day.

The UNBC men have three losses and three ties after six games while the UNBC women have six losses.

New York Yankees 6 Toronto Blue Jays 2

Aaron Judge belted two of the Yankees (91-68) four home runs. The Jays (88-71) remain a game back of both the Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners for the final wild-card spot in the American League.

Toronto ends the regular season with a three-game series at home against the Baltimore Orioles (52-107), which begins tonight.

 

NFL

Cincinnati Bengals 24 Jacksonville Jaguars 21

Joe Burrow passed for 348 yards and two touchdown passes for the Bengals (3-1).

Jaguars (0-4) signal-caller Trevor Lawrence threw for 204 yards and rushed for one touchdown in defeat.

 

CFL

The B.C. Lions host Winnipeg tonight at 7:00.

Games on Saturday have Montreal at Hamilton (1:00) followed by Saskatchewan at Calgary (4:00)

Standings:

West: Winnipeg 6-1, Saskatchewan 5-2, B.C. 4-3, Edmonton and Calgary 2-5
East:  Hamilton and Toronto 4-3, Montreal 2-4, and Ottawa 2-5.
