WHL (PG Cougars)
The curtain opens on the Prince George Cougars regular season tonight (Saturday).
The Cougars start with a home game against the Kamloops Blazers at 7:00 at CN Centre.
Prince George finished 2-2 in the pre-season.
The Cats are carrying 25 players, three goalies, eight defencemen, and 14 forwards.
Six of the players are rookies and four are 20-year-olds (one over the limit); goalie Taylor Gauthier, defenceman Majid Kaddoura plus forwards Jonny Hooker, and Connor Bowie.
Hooker has been named the 27th Captain in franchise history.
There are 3 P.G. boys on the team: defenceman Aiden Reeves and forwards Caden Brown and Fischer O’Brien.

The PG Spruce Kings conclude their pre-season with a home game Sunday afternoon at 3:00 against the Merritt Centennials.
The Spruce Kings open their regular season against the Centennials on Friday (October 8th) in Merritt.
Prince George will also play the Warriors in West Kelowna on October 9th before hosting Merritt October 15th and 16th.
