PG unemployment rate remains low

Job numbers for the month of April are out, and Prince George once again fairs better than the rest of the province.

The city’s unemployment rate sat at 4.7 percent, mostly unchanged from a year ago when it was 4.6 percent.

The provincial unemployment rate was at 5.8 percent.

Statistics Canada’s Vincent Ferrao says, “In terms of the number of people working, there were more people working this April compared to April of last year. We had 50,200 people working this April, compared with 46,000 a year ago.”
