NHL: (6 Sunday games with two Canadian teams in action)

The Canucks blew a 2-1 lead by giving up a pair of third-period power-play goals. Vancouver has lost four straight and nine of its last 10. The (6-14-2) Canucks are 0-3 on a 5-game road trip that continues tonight (Monday 4:30 PT) against the (6-15-2) Canadiens in Montreal.

WHL:

Kelowna Rockets  4  Prince George Cougars  1  (Saturday)

The Rockets led 1-0 just six seconds into the game and 3-0 just six minutes into the game.

The (7-11) Cougars have lost five of their last six and will continue a string of six straight games on the road Tuesday in Seattle against the (12-6-1) Thunderbirds and Wednesday in Portland against the (7-10-2-1) Winterhawks.

Prince George is 4th in the B.C. Division, seven points behind Vancouver and eight back of second-place Kelowna.

The (10-6) Prince George Spruce Kings play their next game on Wednesday when they host the (14-2) Penticton Vees.

The U-18 Cougars host the (4-7-1-4) North Island Silvertips Saturday night at 4:30 and Sunday morning at 9:00 at Kin 1.

The (7-7-1-1) Cougars are in 5th place in the 10-team league.

The Northern Capitals skated to a pair of wins and an overtime loss against the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers in the U18 female division.

The Caps earned 4-1 and 6-1 victories on Friday and Sunday and fell 4-3 in extra time on Saturday in games that were played in Prince George.

The Capitals now have a 14-5-0-3 record and are currently in first place in the five-team division. They’re one point up on the second-place Fraser Valley Rush, but the Rush (15-1-0-0) have six games in hand.

The Prince George-based Caps are now off until Jan. 15th.

The U17 Cariboo Cougars won a pair of tight games against the visiting Thompson Blazers, 2-1 on Saturday and 4-3 on Sunday.

With the wins, the Cats elevated their record to 6-7-0-1, a mark that has them in seventh place in the 10-team division.
