Spruce Kings, St. Vincent de Paul Society bringing Christmas cheer to those less fortunate

The Prince George Spruce Kings are ready to Drop the Mits and Sock it Em.

The Junior A hockey club is teaming up with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and is asking fans to bring new or gently used winter clothing items to their game tonight (Friday) against the Cranbrook Bucks.

Business Operations Manager, Kyle Anderson explained to MyPGNow.com what type of items they are looking for.

“Talking with Bernie from St. Vincent de Paul, socks are always in high demand along with warm toques, scarves, gloves are definitely important and a couple other things we are looking for are any warm winter jackets or snow pants.”

Fans will be encouraged to throw their items onto the ice when the Spruce Kings score their first goal.

It is also 80’s night at the RMCA where the team will be wearing one of its vintage jerseys.

Anderson mentioned several former players will be on hand for the occasion.

“I think we have anywhere between 20 and 25 alumni coming out for that and we are going to throw it back to an old jersey we had in those days.”
