WHL:

Prince George Cougars  5  Kamloops Blazers  2

The Cougars extended their win streak to five games.

Taylor Gauthier made 38 saves as Kamloops outshot P.G. 40-35.

Craig Armstrong snapped a 2-2 tie at 6:43 of the third and the Cats put the game away with a couple of empty net goals.

The (13-14) Cougars visit the (13-12-1) Vancouver Giants tonight in Langley in their final game prior to the Christmas break.

Prince George is 4th in the B.C. Division but just a point behind both Vancouver and the (12-9-0-3) Kelowna Rockets.

The Canadian Hockey League has announced that 10 games from the 2021-22 regular-season schedule will be televised by TSN. The broadcast schedule includes the PG Cougars at the Vancouver Giants on Friday, Jan 14th at 7 PM.

This was the Jets first game since Paul Maurice resigned as head coach. He has been replaced on an interim basis by Dave Lowry.

The (14-15-2) Vancouver Canucks home games this weekend against Toronto tonight and Arizona Sunday night have been postponed because of COVID-19 outbreaks.

The Canucks are 6-0 under coach Bruce Boudreau.

The Boston at Montreal NHL game scheduled for tonight has also been postponed.

There is one game tonight in the NFL: New England at Indianapolis. The (9-4) Patriots have won seven in a row. The (7-6) Colts are two games behind (9-4) Tennessee in the AFC South.
