NHL players will not compete at the Winter Olympics in Beijing.
The league and the NHL Players Association officially announced the decision Wednesday morning with the pandemic causing 50 games to be postponed so far.
The 2022 Olympics begin February 4th and run until February 20th.

The NHL is on pause with play scheduled to resume on Monday, including the Seattle Kraken at the Vancouver Canucks.

WHL:
The Prince George Cougars are enjoying their Christmas break.
The (13-15) Cougars, who have won five of their last six games, host the Everett Silvertips on Tuesday and Wednesday and they will also entertain the Kamloops Blazers on Dec 31st.
Prince George is 7th in the Western Conference standings, three points behind both Kelowna and Vancouver and four ahead of Victoria and Tri-City.
The top eight qualify for the playoffs.

The Prince George Spruce Kings visit the Wenatchee Wild in their next games on December 30th and 31st.
The (13-9-1) Spruce Kings are 4th out of 9 in the BCHL Interior Division.
Prince George does not have another home game until January 12th against West Kelowna.
